Mike Sloan

Technical Director

Mike has over twenty years IT experience in the Financial Services sector. At Equity & Law, Mike was responsible for the management of the New Business administration IT systems and then went on to pioneer the use of Microsoft Windows and client/server technology within the organisation. Mike was part of a ‘dream team’ initiative that was responsible for ‘thought leadership’ and innovation in AXA. He then moved to Focus Solutions where he developed the basis of what would become Focus’ goal:technology product suite. This ground-breaking and patented XML-based technology was at the centre of the drive to enable e-commerce within the UK Life & Pensions sector. Working with ORIGO (the industry’s IT standards body), industry web portals (such as the Exchange) and other industry partners (including Misys and IBM), Mike was instrumental in architecting the current framework and XML standards that underpin the electronic new business trading used today by all the major UK Life & Pensions companies.
